Sweet & Tangy Baked Beans are a crowd-pleasing side dish that beautifully balances sweetness and tanginess, making them the perfect accompaniment for barbecues or family gatherings.

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) canned navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 6 strips bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. In the same skillet with bacon grease, sauté diced onions until soft.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine navy beans, sautéed onions, crumbled bacon (reserve some for topping), ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce; mix well.
  5. Transfer to a greased baking dish, cover with aluminum foil, and bake for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to allow bubbling.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with reserved bacon pieces.
