  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice both ends off the butternut squash, cut it in half lengthwise, and scoop out the seeds.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the cut sides, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and optional maple syrup and cinnamon.
  4. Place the squash halves cut-side down on the prepared baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes until tender.
  5. Flip the squash cut-side up and return it to the oven for an additional 10 minutes to achieve caramelization.
