  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Boil sweet potato chunks in water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash until smooth.
  3. In a bowl, mix mashed sweet potatoes with brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, combine chopped pecans with remaining melted butter and brown sugar.
  5. Spread the sweet potato mixture in the prepared baking dish and top with the pecan mixture.
