  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin beef
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add thinly sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a splash of oil.
  4. Remove beef from marinade (reserve marinade) and grill or sauté in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
  5. Add sliced carrots and green onions along with some reserved marinade to the pan; stir-fry for an additional minute.
  6. Serve bulgogi with rice or in lettuce wraps; drizzle with extra sesame oil if desired.
