  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it froth for about 5 minutes. Stir in melted butter, vanilla extract, flour, and cinnamon until combined.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  4. Punch down the dough and divide it into golf ball-sized pieces.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange dough balls in a greased baking dish and brush with melted butter. Bake for 25-30 minutes until puffed and golden.
  6. While baking, combine brown sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat until dissolved for syrup.
  7. Drizzle syrup over baked dumplings before serving.
