Dutch Apple Pie is a beloved dessert that brings warmth and comfort to any gathering.   • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 6 cups Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add cold water until dough forms.
  2. Roll half the dough into a circle (12 inches) and place it in a pie pan. Trim excess dough.
  3. Toss sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until evenly coated.
  4. Pour apple filling into the crust. Roll out remaining dough for topping or cover with another layer of dough, crimping edges.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown, covering edges with foil if necessary.
  6. Allow cooling slightly before slicing. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
