  • 2 cans (15 oz each) low-sodium navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup (preferably organic)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and chop, keeping the fat in the skillet.
  3. Sauté the chopped onion in the bacon fat until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the drained beans with bacon, sautéed onion, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
