  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper (for gravy)

Instructions

  1. Tenderize the beef round steak to about half an inch thick using a meat mallet.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together buttermilk and eggs. In another bowl, combine flour with salt and pepper.
  3. Dip each steak in the buttermilk mixture, then coat in flour. Repeat for all pieces.
